January 3, 2025: The First Project of Rotary Club of Pen in the New Year On the occasion of Savitribai Phule Jayanti, the Rotary Club of Pen, in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Library in Pen, organized a special program titled "Reading Culture" for tribal girls. As part of this initiative, the library provided books to the girls and encouraged them to read. Additionally, a prize was awarded to the girl who demonstrated excellent reading skills. For this program, Mr. Gore, a professor from Pen Private High School, attended as the examiner, and the event's chief guest was Mr. Arvind Wange, President of the Mahatma Gandhi Library. The primary objective of this program was to instill a love for reading among the girls, especially tribal girls, inspired by Savitribai Phule, who pioneered education for women. Around 70 students participated in the event. Some girls showcased exceptional reading skills, while others made commendable efforts to read beautifully. Professor Gore remarked that if such enthusiasm for reading continues and sustains, these tribal girls will achieve significant progress. The program was conducted in a highly positive and enriching atmosphere, leaving a lasting impact on the participants.
