The Rotary Club of Pen successfully conducted a 2-day Residential Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program for Child Haven International in Maharashtra. The event focused on holistic development, promoting peace, and raising awareness on health care among the youth. ### Day 1 Activities **Yoga and Meditation:** The program commenced with a session on yoga and meditation. Experienced instructors Dr Bhoir guided the participants through various yoga asanas and meditation techniques. This session aimed to enhance physical well-being, improve mental clarity, and foster inner peace among the youth. **Surya Namaskar:** Following the yoga session, participants engaged in Surya Namaskar. This sequence of 12 yoga postures was performed to promote flexibility, improve circulation, and invigorate the body. The practice also emphasized discipline and mindfulness. **Peace Building and Conflict Resolution:** A significant part of the first day was dedicated to workshops on peace building and conflict resolution. Dr Bhoir expert in the field conducted interactive sessions, where participants learned about the causes of conflict and strategies to manage and resolve disputes peacefully. Activities included role-playing scenarios and group discussions to foster a deeper understanding of effective communication and empathy. ### Day 2 Activities **Awareness on Dental Care:** The second day began with an informative session on dental care by Dr Keskar a Dental professional as well as ann of the club educated the participants on the importance of oral hygiene, demonstrating proper brushing and flossing techniques. They also discussed common dental issues and preventive measures to maintain healthy teeth and gums. **Eye Care Awareness:** An eye care awareness session followed, where optometrists Dr Kulkarni provided insights into maintaining good eye health. Participants learned about the significance of regular eye check-ups, protective measures to prevent eye strain, and the impact of nutrition on eye health. The session included practical advice on managing screen time and protecting eyes from harmful UV rays. ### Conclusion The 2-day Residential RYLA program by the Rotary Club of Pen and Child Haven International was a resounding success. It provided a comprehensive platform for youth to engage in activities promoting physical health, mental well-being, and social awareness. The blend of yoga, meditation, educational workshops, and health awareness sessions contributed to the participants' overall development, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge for personal and community growth.
