RC PEN participates in Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan on 1st Oct 2023 with the intention to keep Pen city clean. Swachh Bharat or Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean Indian Mission) is a national level campaign by the Government of India covering 4041 statutory towns to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country. The concept of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is to provide basic sanitation facilities like toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems, village cleanliness, and safe and adequate drinking water supply to every person. The mission aims to cover 1.04 crore households, provide 2.5 lakh community toilets, 2.6 lakh public toilets, and a solid waste management facility in each town. Under the programme, community toilets will be built in residential areas where it is difficult to construct individual household toilets. Cleanliness is most important for physical well-being and a healthy environment. It has bearing on public and personal hygiene. It is essential for everyone to learn about cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and the various diseases that are caused due to poor hygienic conditions.
